One point of separation as Nutt leads Railton to Oulton Park

The Ducati TriOptions 848 Challenge returns to Oulton Park and it couldn't get much closer at the top as Ducati Coventry/JHP's Marty Nutt heads former standings leader Jonathan Railton by a single point ahead of the two races this weekend (9/10/11 August).

Nutt's second victory of the season last time out coupled with Railton's unfortunate crash in race one gives the Castlerock rider the minimal edge ahead of the Boast Plumbing/Art of Racing team ahead of Oulton Park. Nutt now knows that he needs to continue his consistent run of form in a bid to secure a maiden title.

Leon Morris though was victorious for the first time this season at Brands Hatch and the Stockbridge Racing rider is hoping to carry the momentum to round five of the season but Dennis Hobbs is also hunting a podium return after missing out at the previous round.

Darren Fry (JHP/Ducati Coventry) and Daniel Fowler (Fowler Racing) have also been closing in to their leading rivals and Mike 'Spike' Edwards will be targeting another brace of podium finishes as he continues his recovery from a testing crash.

Byron Beckett (SAS Racing) has also been improving over the first half of the season and will be ready to build on that at Oulton Park, especially as he is only separated by five points from Dean Brown (BCM Racing) and a further one point from Ed Smith (Ultim8 Racing) in tenth overall.

Ducati TriOptions 848 Challenge standings:

  1. Marty Nutt (Ducati Coventry/JHP) 162
  2. Jonathan Railton (Boast Plumbing/Art of Racing)161
  3. Leon Morris (Stockbridge Racing) 102
  4. Dennis Hobbs (Hobbs Racing) 87
  5. Darren Fry (JHP/Ducati Coventry) 72
