Nutt leads as Ducati TriOptions 848 Challenge returns to Assen

Marty Nutt leads the way in the Ducati TriOptions 848 Challenge as the series reaches the legendary Assen circuit this weekend and the Ducati Coventry/JHP rider is looking to increase his 16 point lead in the standings.

Nutt was victorious in the opening race at Donington Park last time out but early standings leader Jonathan Railton reeled him back in during the second race to claim his first win since Snetterton in July. The Boast Plumbing/Art of Racing rider is seeking to regain control at the top of the standings and move ahead of Nutt ahead of the season finale at Silverstone.

Stockbridge Racing's Leon Morris maintained his run of podium finishes last time out at Donington Park and he took advantage of Dennis Hobbs who crashed out at the previous round to move 37 points ahead in the battle for third in the overall standings. Hobbs will be desperately hunting a return to the podium to make amends for the double non-points score at Donington Park as he bids to remain ahead of Mike 'Spike' Edwards who is just 20 points adrift as he continues to climb the standings after recovering from injury earlier in the campaign.

The chasing pack of Darren Fry (JHP/Ducati Coventry), Daniel Fowler (Fowler Racing) and Dean Brown (BCM Racing) are also looking to secure their best results of the season so far.

Ducati TriOptions 848 Challenge standings:

1.  Marty Nutt (Ducati Coventry/JHP) 239
2.  Jonathan Railton (Boast Plumbing/Art of Racing) 223
3.  Leon Morris (Stockbridge Racing) 174
4.  Dennis Hobbs (Hobbs Racing) 137
5.  Mike Edwards (Ohlins @ P&H Motorcycles) 117
